I am trying to put together a starter portfolio for art school applications. Looking at student work, it seems that the focus is on really simple forms and then processing the FRACK out of them. Since I had a chicken picture that looked like a lump, I figured I’d give it a try.

Oh, sweet mother of pearl. Photos like these are NOT helping my chicken craving, thank you very much!! I live in a town that doesn’t allow backyard chickens, can afford to move (and don’t want to!), and I simply do not have the time right not to fight city hall (besides, all my neighbours already think I’m crazy).

Are you sure you need to go to school for this??

Silkies are pretty dang quiet – this little one was our very last to hatch and is the baby/runt of the group. He or she is used to being carried around and (as is obvious) likes to sleep on blankets (he/she really was sound asleep, not just blinking). They’re definitely hide-able chickens, if you dare!

Maybe after the renos… but that would mean turning the dog room into the chicken room… and I think the schnauzers would have something to say about that 🙂 Then again, built in fun and games for them… and food 🙂
