clue, Juno

One week old: Sweet Oblivion

And no, I have no idea how on earth Clue can sleep through it.

Puppies (from bottom to top) are Puck, Moth, Bridgid, Iggy, Oberon, under him is probably Hedwig, on top of her is Bosco, then Quince, Felix, Bernard, Sebastian, Zeno is nursing, Titania, then Peaseblossom. Most of them have doubled their birthweight as of today, which is great gain for a litter of any size. Moms are doing a fantastic job. I am doing laundry.

I am watching in amazement as these two wonderful mothers (or should that be three W Ms?!) cooperate to raise their pups. I know it is common in cats to share the nursing and raising of kittens, but have never seen two dogs mix their litters so happily. It will be very interesting to see what happens when the pups are old enough to need a touch of maternal discipline – although by then Clue and Juno may have forgotten whose pups are whose!

That’s Friday’s job. BEST – PUPPY RAISER – EVER. She should be back with them in another week or two.
